Alastair Nowell

QUALIFICATIONS: BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, PG Cert in Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound, Independent Prescriber, Masters in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Alastair has been working as a highly specialised musculoskeletal physiotherapist for over 20 years.

After initially undertaking a BSc in Physiotherapy, Alastair has further developed and enhanced his physiotherapy skills and knowledge by achieving a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Diagnostic Ultrasound, also completing a Master’s in Independent prescribing and finally a Master’s in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Alastair places a significant emphasis on obtaining a comprehensive and accurate diagnosis for each and every patient, especially utilising his diagnostic ultrasound skills and knowledge.

Working at Complete Physio and in the NHS as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist (ESP), Alastair specifically combines his ultrasound guided injection skills and knowledge in the treatment and management for a large number of patients suffering with conditions as knee OA, frozen shoulder, shoulder impingement, carpal tunnel and trochanteric bursitis.

The ultrasound guided injections, Alastair offers can involve a combination of corticosteroid, hyaluronic acid (Ostenil & Durolane) and Arthrosamid, along with shoulder hydrodilatations/hydrodistentions.
