About Lorenzo

Dr Lorenzo Masci is a consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine at One Welbeck Sports Medicine Hospital and the Institute of Sports & Exercise Health (ISEH). He brings medical knowledge and interventional injection experience to the team.

Dr Masci completed his sports medicine fellowship in Australia and moved to the UK nearly 14 years ago to start a specialist practice. In addition to his private practice work, he works as a part-time consultant at the military of defence. He has worked as a Sports Doctor for elite teams and organisations such as Melbourne Storm rugby league, Fulham football club, Tennis Australia and Wasps rugby. Due to his strong academic interest, he is a regular visiting lecturer at University College London (UCL) and Queen Mary University (QMUL).

Lorenzo has been using diagnostic ultrasound in the clinical setting for over 15 years. He has an interest in diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventions in osteoarthritis and tendonitis. He also has an expertise in advanced ultrasound-guided procedures such as tendon scrapings for Achilles and patella tendon complaints and platelet-rich plasma (PRP). Speaking at various National and International conferences, he has published over 20 peer-reviewed papers on tendonitis, ultrasound-guided injections and pars stress fractures.
