About Dionisio

Dr Dionisio Izquierdo is a Consultant in Sport, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sport and Exercise Medicine. He treats people of all ages with acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems, from everyday pain through to complex sports injuries.

He is highly skilled in diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound and delivers a full range of ultrasound-guided treatments, including Arthrosamid, corticosteroid injections, hyaluronic acid and platelet rich plasma (PRP). He also offers shockwave therapy and tailored exercise programmes to help patients recover safely.

Dionisio qualified in medicine at University College London in 2012. He went on to complete an MSc in Sport, Exercise and Health at UCL, higher specialist training in Sport and Exercise Medicine with the London Deanery, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound at the University of East London.

He is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine at Barts Health NHS Trust, Academy Doctor at Fulham FC, and matchday medical co-ordinator for the Arsenal Women’s First Team. He has previously worked with Arsenal Women as Lead Doctor, West Ham United, Brentford FC, The Football Association, the London Marathon and the National NHS Dance Injury Clinic.

Dionisio is a Visiting Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London on the Sport and Exercise Medicine BSc and MSc programmes, and a Council Member of the Royal Society of Medicine’s Sport and Exercise Medicine Section.

He consults in both English and Spanish.
