Complete Injections are able to directly accept patients who wish to book themselves in for steroid injection without the need for a referral. This is because Complete Injections is one of the very few physiotherapy practices in the UK (or in the world in fact) where our expert clinicians who perform ultrasound guided injections are also fully trained and licensed to prescribe your medications for injection.
This means that they are able to perform a physical assessment and diagnose as well as being able to prescribe the best medication to use for your condition without the need of a doctor. Patients find this very convenient and time efficient. One phone call. One appointment.
Prior to your appointment you will be sent a comprehensive patient information leaflet (with further resources available on our website). You will be required to complete a medical screening questionnaire and a written consent form – this will highlight any potential medical issues (contraindications) – If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the screening questions you should contact us prior to the booking as we may require further information to ensure it is safe to proceed.
Our injecting physiotherapists, each have around 20 years experience of musculoskeletal assessment and treatment and have worked in a wide range of settings including NHS, sports medicine, A&E and private practice. This means you will receive a very comprehensive physical assessment and an expertly reasoned decision as to whether an injection is suitable. As qualified musculoskeletal sonographers they will also perform an ultrasound scan of the area to confirm the diagnosis and further ensure an injection is appropriate.
The Complete Injections model is unique – a one-stop-shop model of care giving our patients access to highly skilled physiotherapists who are qualified as independent prescribers of medication and musculoskeletal sonographers. This allows patients to self refer for expert assessment, ultrasound scan and if appropriate and ultrasound guided injection, all within one convenient appointment.
